Swancar County House

On the 17th of December I skipped out of the house in the best of moods, not only was it a week to go until Christmas (I am a bit Christmas obsessed) but I was on my way to the winter wedding of former Model and Monster energy girl Corinne Powell and British Superbike champion Alex Lowes. The event was taking place at Swancar Farm Country House in Nottingham and it was inevitably going to be a glamorous affair.

The couple met three years ago through work and Alex proposed on the Isle of Man last year taking Corinne by total surprise - 'We went walking up a cliff over the sea edge, it was 2 years after we met on bonfire night. I was completely shocked as we hadn't spoken about it at all. I cried, and obviously said yes straight away.'

I arrived before the bride, so I had time to have a good nosey around the venue and plan where we might be able to do some shots later in the day. Everything was happening under the one roof...the prep, the ceremony and reception and wow the day really did flow perfectly.

Corinne arrived not long after 11am and was super chilled and relaxed, I pretty much instantly knew I was going to love every minute of this wedding. With the scent of a Jo Malone candle filling the air the girls popped open a bottle of fizz (or two...or three) and the prep was well underway.

Alex arrived at the venue at 1 o'clock it was then I thought i was seeing double. Alex has an identical twin brother, Sam Lowes. Luckily they didn't pull any twin tricks on me and I did infact capture the correct brother throughout the day-at least I hope I did!!

The ceremony was beautiful and the room stood still as Corinne wowed everyone in her stunning Pronovios gown and Valentino shoes, looking like something sent from heaven.

Due to the time of year I had to wisk the happy pair off pretty much instantly after the ceremony for couple shots, time was against us as I knew we didn't have long until we would lose all the light. It had been raining and the skies were quite grey but I adjusted my exposure and it worked really well.

The speeches where short and sweet and best man-twin brother Sam had everyone in stitches- reminiscing on old stories when the twins were growing up.

Before I knew it the first dance was over and it was time for me to go home. What a pleasure it was to capture this special day as it unfolded. Thank you Mr and Mrs Lowes for letting me be a small part of your big day and thank you to the team at Swancar for being so accommodating-and feeding me sticky toffee pudding!!

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Lowes.
